When did we stop trusting our own bodies?
Somewhere along the way, we traded common sense for convenience…and it’s showing.
We’ve been told what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat for so long that we’ve forgotten how to actually listen to our own bodies.
We follow guidelines created by committees, not by people who actually know us… and then wonder why we’re inflamed, exhausted, and constantly chasing the next “new” diet that promises to fix it all.
Here’s the truth most people miss:
Your body is not unfixable…It’s just confused…because the advice you’ve been given goes against nature and common sense.
🍞 “Healthy” foods that make us sick
We’ve been told to eat heart-healthy seed oils, load up on whole grains, and fear red meat and butter.
But look around… Are we healthier for it?
Rates of autoimmune disease, thyroid dysfunction, and chronic pain have skyrocketed…even among people who “eat healthy.” That’s not coincidence… that’s cause and effect.
Nature gave us everything we need…real, whole, nutrient-dense foods that our ancestors thrived on for generations.
We didn’t evolve on cereal boxes, protein bars, and vegetable oils.
🧬 Your body wants simplicity
Your body isn’t asking for more superfoods or supplements…it’s asking for less confusion.
It wants food that it recognizes.
It wants space between meals to rest and repair.
It wants you to breathe before eating instead of scrolling.
It wants sunlight, sleep, and stillness as much as movement and protein.
When you give your body these things, it starts to heal.
Not because of a miracle… but because you finally stopped getting in its way.
🌱 The return to common sense
Think about it:
- We’re the only species that needs “experts” to tell us what to eat.
- We’re the only species that eats fake food and calls it progress.
- And we’re the only species that’s sicker now than ever before…while eating “better” than ever according to modern standards.
That should tell us something.
It’s not about perfection or extremes. It’s about getting back to what makes sense.
Eating real food. Moving gently. Sleeping deeply. Thinking clearly.
Your body already knows what to do…it’s been waiting for you to remember.
💛 My challenge for you this week
Before you eat, pause for 5 seconds.
Ask yourself:
“Would this make sense if I lived 200 years ago?”
If the answer’s no…it’s time to make some changes.
If the answer’s yes…eat with gratitude.
Common sense might just be the most powerful healing tool you have.
